The Hawaii Fair Employment poster has been updated to reflect two new protected categories. Reproductive health decisions have been added as a protected class under Hawaii’s anti-discrimination laws. In addition, employers are prohibited from requiring an employee to enter into, as a condition of employment, a nondisclosure agreement that prevents them from disclosing or discussing sexual harassment or assault that occurred in the workplace. October 2, 2020 Maryland Equal Pay for Equal Work
The Maryland Equal Pay for Equal Work poster has been updated to reflect two amendments to the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The first amendment requires an employer, during the hiring process, to provide the wage range for the position to which the applicant applied, and prohibits an employer from retaliating, seeking or relying on the applicant’s wage history in screening a job applicant. The Illinois Victims' Economic Security and Safety Act (VESSA) poster has been released by the Illinois Department of Labor.  The VESSA Act allows employees who are victims of domestic or sexual violence to take up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave to seek assistance. August 27, 2020 Colorado Fair Employment
The Colorado Fair Employment poster has been updated to reflect the amending of the definition of race under the state’s anti-discrimination laws. Discrimination on the basis of one’s race now includes traits such as hair texture and type, and protective hairstyles that are commonly or historically associated with race.  The updated Fair Employment poster also replaces the state’s Pregnancy Accommodations poster. Employers are no longer required to post a separate Pregnancy Accommodations poster as information about the law is on the Fair Employment poster. July 22, 2020 Colorado Paid Leave and Whistleblower
The Colorado Paid Leave and Whistleblower poster has been released by the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment. The new poster provides notice to employees that they are entitled to paid leave under the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act, the amount of paid leave to which they are entitled, and that an employer cannot retaliate against an employee for requesting or using paid leave. In addition, the poster also addresses worker rights under the Public Health Emergency Whistleblower Law to express workplace health and safety concerns during public health emergencies.
