The Nevada Sick Leave poster has been released by the Nevada Office of the Labor Commissioner, Department of Business and Industry.  A new law requires employers who provide paid or unpaid sick leave to allow an employee to use any accrued sick leave to care for family member with an illness, injury, medical appointment or other authorized medical need. The Nevada Minimum Wage poster has been updated to reflect an increase in the minimum wage effective July 1, 2021. The minimum wage will increase from $8.00 per hour to $8.75 per hour for employees to whom qualifying health benefits ae offered or made available. The Ohio Fair Employment poster has been updated to reflect the addition of a protected category under Ohio’s Civil Rights Act and shortened the period for filing claims under the Act. The Ohio Civil Rights Commission (OCRC) has added sexual orientation and gender identity to the protected categories, and shortened the time period for filing a claim with the OCRC. June 10, 2021 Massachusetts COVID-19 Emergency Paid Sick Leave
The Massachusetts COVID-19 Emergency Paid Sick Leave poster has been released by the Office for Administration and Finance.  A new law requires employers to make paid leave time available to employees for COVID-19 related illnesses, quarantine, and vaccinations. The law is effective until September 30, 2021, or the exhaustion of program funds as determined by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Nevada Annual Daily Overtime Bulletin has been updated to reflect an increase to the hourly daily overtime wage rates for employees with and without qualifying health benefits effective July 1, 2021. The daily overtime wage will increase to $13.125 per hour for employees offered qualifying health benefits. March 25, 2021 California COVID-19 Supplemental Paid Sick Leave
The California 2021 COVID-19 Supplemental Paid Sick Leave poster has been released by the California Department of Industrial Relations. Effective March 29, 2021, California employers with more than 25 mployees will have to provide their California employees with up to 80 hours of COVID-19–related paid leave. The California Unemployment Insurance poster has been updated to reflect an expanded benefit to the Paid Family Leave Program. Beginning January 1, 2021, any employee who takes time off to participate in a qualifying event resulting from a spouse, registered domestic partner, parent, or child’s military deployment to a foreign country is eligible for benefits under the California Paid Family Leave Program. January 6, 2021 New York Minimum Wage
The New York Minimum Wage poster has been updated to reflect an increase to the minimum wage for Long Island and Westchester County and remainder of New York State. The minimum wage for Long Island and Westchester County will increase from $13.00 per hour to $14.00 per hour and the remainder of New York State from $11.80 per hour to $12.50 per hour, effective December 31, 2020. The minimum wage for all employees in New York City will remain at the same $15.00 per hour rate. The Michigan Bureau of Employment Relations, Wage and Hour Division announced the state’s scheduled minimum wage increase will not go into effect on January 1, 2021. The Illinois Minimum Wage poster has been updated to reflect an increase to the minimum wage. The minimum wage will increase from $10.00 per hour to $11.00 per hour effective January 1, 2021. December 4, 2020 Colorado Paid Leave and Whistleblower
The Colorado Paid Leave and Whistleblower poster has been updated to reflect changes to the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA). Beginning in 2021, the HFWA covers employers with at least 16 employees and allows employees to earn 1 hour of paid leave per 30 hours worked, with a maximum of 48 hours of paid leave per year.
