The Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave poster has been updated to clarify who is a covered individual under the law. A covered individual under the law includes a worker eligible for unemployment benefits and paid wages by a Massachusetts employer, and includes a self-employed individual who resides and works in Massachusetts and chooses to opt-in to the program. June 10, 2021 Massachusetts COVID-19 Emergency Paid Sick Leave
The Massachusetts COVID-19 Emergency Paid Sick Leave poster has been released by the Office for Administration and Finance.  A new law requires employers to make paid leave time available to employees for COVID-19 related illnesses, quarantine, and vaccinations. The law is effective until September 30, 2021, or the exhaustion of program funds as determined by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave poster has been updated to include information on health insurance benefits during paid family and medical leave. During paid family and medical leave, employers are required to maintain the employee’s health insurance at the same level the employee had prior to taking leave.
