A covered individual under the law includes a worker eligible for unemployment benefits and paid wages by a Massachusetts employer, and includes a self-employed individual who resides and works in Massachusetts and chooses to opt-in to the program. June 10, 2021 Massachusetts COVID-19 Emergency Paid Sick Leave
The Massachusetts COVID-19 Emergency Paid Sick Leave poster has been released by the Office for Administration and Finance.  A new law requires employers to make paid leave time available to employees for COVID-19 related illnesses, quarantine, and vaccinations. The law is effective until September 30, 2021, or the exhaustion of program funds as determined by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave poster has been updated to include information on health insurance benefits during paid family and medical leave. During paid family and medical leave, employers are required to maintain the employee’s health insurance at the same level the employee had prior to taking leave. The Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave poster has been updated with an adjusted contribution rate and benefit amount under the state Paid Family and Medical Leave Act. Employers may deduct payroll contributions of up to 0.344% from a covered individual’s wages or other earnings, and the maximum weekly amount of benefits available to eligible individuals will increase to $1,084.31 per week. The Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave poster has been updated with an adjusted contribution rate and benefit amount under the state Paid Family and Medical Leave Act. Employers may deduct payroll contributions of up to 0.318% from a covered individual’s wages or other earnings, and the maximum weekly amount of benefits available to eligible individuals will increase to $1,129.82 per week. Employers may deduct payroll contributions of up to 0.46% from a covered individual’s wages or other earnings, and the maximum weekly amount of benefits available to eligible individuals will increase to $1,149.90 per week. January 17, 2024 Massachusetts Unemployment Insurance
The Massachusetts Unemployment Insurance poster has been updated with new information on how to apply for unemployment insurance benefits. The Massachusetts Workers’ Compensation has been updated with a new format, logo, and QR code. The poster was also updated with new language regarding an employer’s failure to report an injury to their insurer. If an employer fails to report an injury to their insurer, the employee may file an Employee’s Claim Form.
