Maine Paid Family and Medical Leave
The Maine Paid Family and Medical Leave poster has been released by the Maine Department of Labor. The new Maine Paid Family and Medical Leave law will provide up to 12 weeks of paid leave for family leave, medical leave, safe leave or leave related to a family member’s impending military deployment. Payroll withholdings from employee’s pay for the program will begin on January 1, 2025 and benefits will begin in 2026. The law requires employers to post a notice in the workplace of the benefits available under the program.

The Wage Transparency Act was recently amended by the Wage Transparency Omnibus Amendment Act of 2023. The Nevada Annual Daily Overtime Bulletin has been updated to reflect an increase to the hourly daily overtime wage rates for employees effective July 1, 2024. Employees earning less than $18.00 per hour are eligible for overtime at one and one half times the employee’s regular rate for over 8 hours of work in a 24-hour period, or over 40 hours of work in a week. Employees earning more than the hourly rate are eligible for overtime at one and one half the employee’s regular rate of pay for over 40 hours per week.
