Labor Law Updates

The Maryland Child Labor poster has been updated to reflect that parents or guardians can complete work permit applications.  The employment restrictions for minors 14 and 15 years old have also been expanded. Order Updated Poster >

The Washington Rights as a Worker poster has been updated with information about the new Paid Family and Medical Leave program.  Beginning in 2020, it will allow most employees to receive up to 12 weeks of paid leave for bonding after the birth or placement of a child, an employee’s serious health condition, a serious health condition of a qualifying family member and certain military events.  The poster was also updated with information about the new Equal Pay Opportunity Act.  The law prohibits employers from providing unequal pay or career advancement opportunities based on gender. The Oregon Minimum Wage poster has been updated to reflect an increase in the minimum wage. The minimum wage will increase to $12.50 per hour inside the Portland Metro area, $11.00 per hour in nonurban counties, and $11.25 per hour in the remainder of the state effective July 1, 2019. The Colorado Unemployment Insurance poster has been updated with additional information and resources on employee misclassification and independent contractor status. The poster was also updated with a new web address that employees can use to file for unemployment insurance benefits. Order Updated Poster >

The Kentucky Fair Employment poster has been updated to include information about the new Kentucky Pregnant Workers Act. The new law prohibits employment discrimination in relation to an employee’s pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions. Employers are also required to provide reasonable accommodation for pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions. Order Updated Poster >

The New York Time Off for Voting poster has been updated to reflect that employees may request up to three hours of paid time off to vote. The poster was also updated to reflect that employees must request the time off to vote not less than two working days before the date of the election. Order Updated Poster >

The Nevada 2019 Annual Daily Overtime Bulletin has been updated to reflect the overtime rates effective July 1, 2019. The rates remain unchanged on July 1, 2019. Employers are required to post this updated yearly bulletin along with the Annual Minimum Wage Bulletin and the Minimum Wage poster. Order Updated Poster >

The Nevada 2019 Annual Minimum Wage Bulletin has been updated to reflect the minimum wage rates effective July 1, 2019. The rates remain unchanged on July 1, 2019. The Massachusetts Department of Family and Medical Leave has released a new mandatory Paid Family and Medical Leave poster. The new poster provides information on the weekly benefits available under the new Paid Family and Medical Leave law, defines covered individuals, and describes the anti-retaliation and anti-discrimination provisions of the law. The Vermont Minimum Wage poster has been updated to reflect a change in contact information for employees to obtain more information from the Vermont Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Program. Order Updated Poster >
